DHL is the leading and largest logistics company in the world. While we are incredibly proud of this, it also comes with great responsibility for our employees, society, and the environment. That is why these three themes form the cornerstones of our strategy.
Improving sustainability starts with commitment. We're committed to achieving zero-emission logistics by 2050. But that's still a few years away, so our current green agenda is focused on 2025. By then, we want to have at least 70% clean delivery solutions such as electric vehicles and bicycles. We also want to ensure that more than half of our products are made using green solutions. All our employees think sustainably, and we plant one million trees every year together with our partners.
If there's a disaster anywhere in the world, our boundless network can be a great help. The United Nations and other organizations really value our network and use it to provide emergency relief. With our logistics expertise and support, we give relief operations an extra boost. Our employees also lend a helping hand by offering their time on International Volunteer Day and through the DHL Living Responsibility Fund.
The best way to build a good future is by increasing opportunities for young people. DHL participates in various teaching programs across the world. Through the Teach For All network we try to give every child access to education, wherever they are. We're also supporting education in the Netherlands. We give vehicle blind spot lessons to primary schools together with Veilig Verkeer Nederland, an organization dedicated to traffic safety. In Rotterdam, we're teaching young girls how to earn their place on the labor market.

DHL Cares in action
DHL contributes to a better environment and society in many different ways. We use our global presence to give relief organizations access to disaster areas and emergencies through GoHelp. We also support many different charities, such as Alpe d’HuZes, A Sister’s Hope, and Beat Batten. These three foundations take on life-threatening diseases. DHL not only funds these organizations, but also offers advice, resources, and helps to organize their flow of funds.
Striving forward with first choice
DHL has wonderful clients across the world, and we'd like to keep it that way. That's why we ensure that we are and remain their first choice through our excellent service, as well as through First Choice. This is our first-class improvement program that helps everyone in our organization strive forward every single day, guided by the motto: “Everybody. Everyday. Everywhere. A little bit better.”
